# Settings

Use **Settings** to select proofreading languages, default dialects and allowed domains for the selected team.

The owner and administrators can change settings. Developers and users can view them. Editing controls are unavailable when the license blocks service access.

### Languages

**Languages** lists the languages enabled for your service. Available choices use WProofreader Server's installed-language list when available. If that list is unavailable or unusable, the admin panel shows the full available language list.

To add languages to WProofreader Server, see [Languages setup](/v6.18.1/deployment/configuration/languages-setup.md). For language codes, see [Supported languages](/v6.18.1/features/supported-languages.md).

To change the list:

1. Click **Update**.
2. Select each language that you need.
3. Clear each language that you do not need.
4. Click **Confirm**.

Keep at least one language selected. **Confirm** is unavailable when no language is selected or a change is being saved.

A locked language list cannot be changed here. Its message asks you to contact the service owner or administrator.

### Language autodetection

When **Language autodetection** is on, WProofreader detects the text's language. It uses only languages selected in **Languages**.

Use the checkbox beside **Language autodetection** to turn it on or off. The change saves automatically.

If autodetection is inherited from the service configuration, it stays on and cannot be disabled here. The admin panel shows a locked-setting message.

### Default dialects

**Default dialects** appears when autodetection is on and the selected languages have available dialect choices.

Select a dialect from the list beside its language. The change saves automatically.

**Not set** means no default dialect is selected. Select a dialect for each language marked **Not set**.

### Domains permissions

Use **Domains permissions** to restrict websites that can use the service. WProofreader processes requests only from listed domains.

An empty list shows "All domains are allowed."

{% hint style="warning" %}
Adding the first domain stops requests from other domains. Removing the last domain allows requests from any domain.
{% endhint %}

To add a domain:

1. Enter a domain in the field, for example `example.com`.
2. Click **Add**.
3. If **Add domain** opens, click **Confirm**.

The confirmation window opens only for the first domain.

To remove a domain:

1. Click the × icon beside the domain.
2. In **Remove domain**, click **Confirm**.

You can add up to 50 domains. Each domain can contain up to 70 characters. The admin panel does not add duplicate domains.
