# Installation requirements

WebSpellChecker is a web-based application, meaning it runs centrally on a server and users interact with it through web browsers.

Before installing WebSpellChecker Server, **make sure you have familiarized yourself with**:

1. Software architecture diagram. For details, visit [Architecture diagram](/v6.11.0/deployment/installation-requirements/architecture-diagram.md).
2. Deployment options. For details, visit [Deployment options](/v6.11.0/deployment/installation/deployment-options.md).
3. System requirements
   1. Hardware requirements. Refer to [Hardware requirements](/v6.11.0/deployment/installation-requirements/hardware-requirements.md) pages accordingly that describe optimal requirements for HDD, RAM, CPU and supported cloud computing providers.
   2. Software requirements. Refer to [Software requirements](/v6.11.0/deployment/installation-requirements/software-requirements.md) page which lists the additional required server and client software like operating systems, web or Java application servers, web browsers.
